Round two is done and dusted and we saw five tipsters share the prize money! Rusty, Ben Searle, Brock, Mick J and Vinny all had their $100 on TREASURETHE MOMENT ($5.93 BSP and $1.99 BSP place), who announced herself as the next star mare on the scene. The ever-consistent MR BRIGHTSIDE (I shudder thinking about that song after 2017) ran second paying $2.18, with BUCKAROO jumping out of the ground to grab third at a whopping $11.47! Well done to Gav who was the only one to back Buckaroo each way.
The leaderboard is now taking shape with Rusty currently in the lead on $579, from Benny Leal ($441), with SearlyBird, Benny Leal, Mick J and Vinny in joint-third on $393. There are still 22 tipsters yet to trouble the scorers! But you will get double the chance this week with two races, the Moir and the Concorde Stakes.
We can also have a look at the Captain Consistency Award for the first time this year. Just a recap, you get a point for each round that you return a positive kitty. Currently there are five tipsters to have a positive return in both rounds: Vision and Power, JP, Benny Leal, Sniffles and Rusty.
Prize Money Announcement
We had a couple of late entrants to boost our overall numbers to 52, which is a record for the comp! After taking some of the entry money for website maintenance (and losing a small fee to PayPal) I can announce that the prize money for 2025 is as follows:
