Will the favourites keep winning or are we due some diamonds in the rough? Will Sim finally tip a winner? Who will take home the Golden Pony and who will be crowned the hottest in racing?
This week Twiggy came home the strongest with a round 12 score of $758, having $100 on STRICTLY BUSINESS ($7.90 BSP) in the Crown Oaks to go with $80 on GRINGOTTS ($3.35 BSP) in the Big Dance. Law was second on $578.10 with $50 on HALF YOURS ($10.18 BSP) in the Melbourne Cup, $30 on GRINGOTTS and $34 on STRICTLY BUSINESS. Kilsby was third on $537.50 with $25 on HALF YOURS, $100 on GRINGOTTS and $100 place THE PEARLS ($2.48 BSP place) in the Oaks.
The overall leaderboard has seen some big moves, with Law ($1820) closing the gap to Cat ($1851) to just $31!!! Kilsby has moved up to third on $789, with Chriso ($698) and Dogbet ($572) rounding out the top five. It will be interesting to see the tactics employed from here, with the average winning price this year being just $6.31. Consistent tipping could win it from here as there hasn’t been many long-priced winners. CHARM STONE’s $39.30 win being the biggest, with the next best winner ROTHFIRE at $14.38. Surely we are due one roughie, but you’ll need to be good enough to find it. Top 10 below:
